Distribution: Mediterranean, Black Sea, Atlantic to Western Channell.
Habitat: Shallow rocky places, in tide pools, inbetween weeds.
Shape: Large head with angle of jaw not reaching the eyes; large lips; fins with rays.
Size: 27 cm.
Colour: Basic green and yellowish; males dusky.
